HomeMy WebLinkAbout026626 ORD - 01/31/2006AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING AN AMENDMENT TO A GRANT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF STATE HEALTH SERVICES IN THE AMOUNT OF $88,174 IN THE NO. 1066 HEALTH GRANTS FUND FOR PERSONNEL COSTS TO PROVIDE ESSENTIAL PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICES; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. An amendment to a grant from the Department of State Health Ser- vices in the amount of $88,174 is appropriated in the No. 1066 Health Grants Fund for personnel costs to provide essential public health services. SECTION 2. Upon the written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, the City Council: (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs, and (2) suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and takes effect upo rst reading as an emergency measure on this the 3/ 54 day of , 2006.
