AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION
IN THE AMOUNT OF $50,000 TO THE STATE OF TEXAS,
TEXAS ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE COMMISSION, FOR THE
FUNDING OF OVERTIME TO ENFORCE UNDERAGE DRINKING
LAWS, TO PREVENT YOUTH ACCESS TO AND ILLEGAL
USE OF ALCOHOL, AND PROVIDE FOR AN EDUCATIONAL
PROGRAM WITH A CITY CASH MATCH OF $14,500, AND AN
IN -KIND CONTRIBUTION OF $2,300, FOR A TOTAL PROJECT
COST OF $66,800, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
OR THE CITY MANAGER'S DESIGNEE TO APPLY FOR,
ACCEPT, REJECT, ALTER OR TERMINATE THE GRANT.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS THAT:
SECTION 1. The City Manager, or the City Manager's designee, is authorized to
submit a grant application in the amount of $50,000 to the State of Texas, Texas
Alcoholic Beverage Commission, for the funding of overtime to enforce underage
drinking laws, to prevent youth access to and illegal use of alcohol, and
provide for an educational program with a City cash match of $14,500, and an in-
kind contribution of $2,300, for a total project cost of $66,800.
SECTION 2. The City Manager, or the City Manager's designee, may apply for,
accept, reject, alter the terms and conditions, or terminate the grant, if said grant
is awarded to the City.
SECTION 3. In the event of the loss or misuse of these funds, the City of Corpus
Christi assures that the funds will be returned, in full, to the TABC.
