HomeMy WebLinkAbout026677 ORD - 03/21/2006ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $28,242.50 FROM THE SALE OF SEIZED VEHICLES IN THE NO. 1061- 821005 FUND FOR PURCHASE OF EQUIPMENT AND TRAINING OF POLICE OFFICERS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:: SECTION 1. That $28,242.50 from the sale of seized vehicles is appropriated in the No. 1061 -821005 Fund for the purchase of equipment and training of police officers. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council Members, the City Council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs; and, (2) suspends that Charter rule which requires an ordinance to be considered and voted upon at two regular meetings, so that this ordinance is passed and takes effect as an emergency measure upon its first reading, this. the 21st day of March, 2006. Therefore, I /we request that you suspend said Charter rule and finally pass this ordinance on the date of its introduction, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
