HomeMy WebLinkAbout026679 ORD - 03/21/2006AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING AN AMENDMENT TO A GRANT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF STATE HEALTH SERVICES IN THE AMOUNT OF $50,000 IN THE NO. 1066 HEALTH GRANTS FUND FOR PERSONNEL COSTS AND OTHER EXPENSES RELATING TO A PLAN FOR RESPONDING TO AN ACT OF TERRORISM; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. An amendment to a grant from the Texas Department of State Health Services in the amount of $50,000 is appropriated in the No. 1066 Health Grants Fund for personnel costs, fringe benefits, travel, supplies, and other expenses relating to a plan for responding to an act of terrorism. SECTION 2. Upon the written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, the City Council: (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs, and (2) suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and takes effect upon first re ding as an emergency measure on this the al S+ day of , 2006.
