HomeMy WebLinkAbout026953 ORD - 08/29/2006ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $206,451 FROM THE TEXAS HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES COMMISSION TO OPERATE THE CHILD AND ADULT CARE FOOD PROGRAM IN THE NO. 1067 FEDERAUSTATE GRANTS FUND TO PROVIDE AFTER SCHOOL SUPPLEMENTS (SNACK) FOR YOUTH ENROLLED IN APPROVED AFTER SCHOOL ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS FOR FY 2006 -2007; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That a grant of $206,451 from the Texas Health and Human Services Commission to operate the child and adult care food program is appropriated in the No. 1067 Federal /State Grants Fund to provide after school supplements (snack) for youth enrolled in approved after school enrichment programs for FY 2006 -2007 SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, the City Council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs and (2) suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is pass d and tak effect first reading as an emergency measure this the day of , 2006.
