HomeMy WebLinkAbout026989 ORD - 09/19/2006AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING A GRANT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF STATE HEALTH SERVICES IN THE AMOUNT OF $144,350 IN THE NO. 1066 HEALTH GRANTS FUND FOR PERSONNEL AND FRINGE BENEFITS FOR AN IMMUNIZATION PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN, ADOLESCENTS, AND ADULTS, WITH SPECIAL EMPHASIS ON CHILDREN TWO YEARS OF AGE AND YOUNGER; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. A grant from the Texas Department of State Health Services in the amount of $144,350 is appropriated in the No. 1066 Health Grants Fund for person- nel and fringe benefits for an immunization program for children, adolescents, and adults. with special emphasis on children two years of age and younger. SECTION 2. Upon the written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, the City Council: (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs and (2) suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and takes effect upon first reading as an emergency measure on this the +K day of 2006 ATTEST.
