HomeMy WebLinkAbout027153 ORD - 02/20/2007ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $88,500 FROM THE TEXAS AUTOMOBILE THEFT PREVENTION AUTHORITY (ATPA) IN THE NO. 1061 POLICE GRANTS FUND; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That $88,500 from the Texas Automobile Theft Prevention Authority (ATPA) is appropriated in the No. 1061 Police Grants Fund for funding of the CCPD motor vehicle theft unit. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council Members, the City Council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate accon for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs; and, (2) suspends that Charter rule which requires an ordinance to be considered and voted upon at two regular meetings, so that this ordinance is passed and takes effect as an emergency measure upon its first reading on February 20. 2007.
