AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR HIS DESIGNEE, TO
SUBMIT A GRANT APPLICATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $78,000
TO THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY,
GOVERNOR'S DIVISION OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT,
HAZARDOUS MATERIALS EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS
GRANT PROGRAM FOR PUBLIC AWARENESS BROCHURES,
SCHOOL BOOK COVERS, PRODUCTION AND BROADCAST
OF PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENTS, AND TO CONDUCT
AN EMERGENCY RESPONSE EXERCISE, WITH A HARD
MATCH OF X3,600.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS THAT:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager, or his designee, is authorized to submit a grant
application in the amount of $18,000 to the Texas Department of Public Safety,
Governor's Division of Emergency Management, Hazardous Materials Emergency
Preparedness Grant Program for public awareness brochures, school book covers,
production and broadcast of public service announcements, and to conduct an
emergency response exercise, with a hard match of $3,60O
