BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL. OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. At the first meetirq_af#er creation of the committee, a majority of the whole committee shall elect a Chair •ers n and Vice -Chair ersn to serve Burin the initial two-year term. Thereafter, a Committee Chairperson and Vice- Chairperson i e -Chairperson shall be elected b a ma`ori of the whole committee to serve one- year terms expiring each September 1. "(?)The Committee ittee shall advise and make recommendations regarding use or preservation of thef llowini areas within the city limits: the waterfront, the beaches, and the natural bodies of water including but not limited to Gulf of Mexico, bays, rivers, and creeks, excluding the Marina area as defined ba Section 2-264. (b) The Committee's duties include the following: Assist the City Council in providing for the orderly, master planning of the areas described in subsection (a). (2) Review the annual capital improvement budgets regarding__ the improvement and maintenance of the facilities upon said areas. f3) Review and make recommendations regarding special event requests upon said areas. "The City Manager shall appoint a staff member to keep minutes of the commiftee and prepare such assistance as the committee may request. "Sec. 2-84. Watershore and Beach Advisory Committee's coordination with Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee. SECTION 2. That the City Code of Ordinances, Chapter 2, Administration , Article IV, Miscellaneous Boards, Commissions and Committees, is amended to establish a new Division 25 to establish the Marina Advisory Committee. SECTION 3. That the City Code of Ordinances, Chapter 2, Administration n , Article IV, Miscellaneous Boards, Commissions and Committees, Division 2 Park and Recreation Advisory Committee Is revised to read as follows: "2-72. Duties. The Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee shall advise the City Council as to all public parks and the buildings therein, public outdoor recreation areas and centers, and any other grounds placed under its purview by the City Manager. Further, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee and the water/shore Watershore r and _Beach Advisory Committee shall have joint jurisdiction over all waters adjacent to city parks located along Oso Creek and the Nueces River. However, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee will continue to have sole jurisdiction on the parkland adjoining the wa to rways . " SECTION 4. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction, it shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word, or provision of this ordinance, for it is the definite intent of this City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance be given full force and effect for its purpose.
