AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AMENDED
USE PRIVILEGE AGREEMENT WITH CONTRACTORS SAFETY
COUNCIL OF THE COASTAL BEND ("OWNER"), TO PROVIDE FOR
USE OF 81 -LINEAR FEET ALONG THE EAST SIDE OF SOUTHERN
MINERALS ROAD PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY FOR THE INSTALLATION
OF A PRIVATE 2 -INCH PVC FORCE MAIN; AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager, or his designee, is hereby authorized to execute
an amendment to Use Privilege Agreement with Contractors Safety Council of the
Coastal Bend ("Owner") for the right to install, operate, repair, replace, and maintain a
private 2 -inch PVC force main along the east side of Southern Minerals Road public
right-of-way, approximately 81 feet to an existing city manhole.
SECTION 2. That all other terms and conditions of the Use Privilege Agreement shall
remain in force and effect.
SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayoror five council members, copy
attached, the City Council finds and declares an emergency due to the need for
immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs
and suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon
ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take
effect upon first reading as an emergency this the 18th day of September, 2007.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance an
emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and
voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings: I/we, therefore, request that you
suspend said Charter rule and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or
at the present meeting of the City Council.
