AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR DESIGNEE, TO ACCEPT A
GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $30,580.00 AND TO EXECUTE A
CONTRACT AND ALL RELATED DOCUMENTS WITH THE TEXAS
STATE LIBRARY AND ARCHIVES COMMISSION FOR THE LOAN
STAR LIBRARIES GRANT TO BE USED AS FOLLOWS: $25,580.00
FOR BOOKS FOR THE NEW SOUTHSIDE LIBRARY; $3,000.00 FOR A
PART-TIME ARCHIVIST FOR THE CENTRAL LIBRARY; AND
$2,000.00 FOR ARCHIVAL SUPPLIES FOR THE CENTRAL LIBRARY.
BE IT RESOLVED ED BY THE C1TY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City Manager, or designee, is authorized to accept a grant in the
amount of $301580.00 and to execute a contract and all related documents with the
Texas State Library and Archives Commission for the Loan Star Libraries grant to be
used as follows: $25,580.00 for books for the new southside library; $3,00000 for a
part-time archivist for the Central Library; and $2,000.00 for archival supplies for the
Central Library.

The City of Corpus
Christi proposes to
convert the property
owned by the City and
generally known as
South Guth Park, in-
cluding the ball fields
located thereon, from
its current recreational
use to a higher educa-
tional use.
The property is pro-
posed to be
transferred to the Tex-
as A&M University
System for the expan-
sion of the Texas A&M
Corpus Christi cam-
pus.
The City is proposing
alternate locations for
the recreational ac-
tivities that have
occurred at South
Guth Park.
A public hearing on
the proposed change
will be held on Tues-
day, September 25,
2007, during the City
Council meeting to be-
gin at 10:00 a.m. in the
ity Council Chamber,
Corpus Christi City
Hall, 1201 Leopard
Street, Corpus Christi,
Texas.
The City will consider
