DETERMINING A PUBLIC NECESSITY TO ACQUIRE FEE
SIMPLE TITLE TO THE SURFACE ESTATE ONLY TO THREE
PARCELS OF LAND FOR A BALL FIELD RELOCATION
PROJECT KNOWN AS THE SOUTH GOTH PARK BALL FIELD
RELOCATION PROJECT (#3337), FROM THE OWNERS
WILLIAM H. SHIREMAN, ET AL (PARCEL 1), VICKERS FAMILY
TRUST (PARCEL 2), AND NOY SHOCKLEY, ET UX (PARCEL 3),
FOR THE PUBLIC PURPOSE AND USE AS A BALL FIELD
PARK AND FOR OTHER RELATED PARK PURPOSES; AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND THE CITY
ATTORNEY TO ACQUIRE THE SUBJECT PARCELS BY MEANS
OF NEGOTIATIONS OR EXERCISE OF THE CITY'S POWER OF
EMINENT DOMAIN
BE IT RESOLVED El BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS;
SECTION 1. It is determined that there is a public necessity to acquire fee simple
title to the surface estate only to three parcels of land for a ball field relocation
project known as the South Guth Park Bali Field Relocation Project (##3337), from
the owners William H. Shireman, et al (Parcel 1), Vickers Family Trust (Parcel 2),
and Noy Shockley, et u (Parcel 3), as shown on the attached Attachment "A",
for the public purpose and use as a ball field park and for other related park
purposes.
SECTION 2. The City Manager and the City Attorney are authorized to acquire
the subject parcels by means of negotiations or by exercise of the City's power of
eminent domain.
