BE IT ORDAINED Y THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS, THAT:
Section 1. The Code of Ordinances, Chapter 2 "Administration," Article IV "Miscella-
neous Boards, Commissions and Committees," Division 21 is amended to create the
Clean City Advisory Committee and enact enabling provisions to read as follows:

"There is hereby created the Clean City Advisory Committee. The purpose of the
committee is to advise the City Council on reo Olin• litter and other solid waste

"Sec. 2-232. Duties.
"The committee shall:

issues of concern in the community related to re ysiin • litter and
other solid waste environmental matters.

"(5) acquaint itself with the recycling and litter reduction needs and
problems within the communit .

acceptance of the need for reg lin and litter reduction programs.

"Sec. 2-233. Membership; ; erms; flllin va an ie ; ex -officio members.
"a The committee shall consist of nine members. Of the nine members,
one 1shall be an educator in a primary, secondary, or high school within the
city; one shall be a member of a local Chamber of Commerce• one shall
be a commercial solid waste hauler; one (1) shall be a member of the Beautify
cor us Christi Association; and the remaining five members shall represent
the community at large!

"Sec. 2-234. Rules of procedure; officers; staff liaison.

representative, shall serve as the staff liaison and secretary of the committee and

shall send all notices for meetings, keep and preserve the minutes advise and
consult with city officials as to thecommittee's work and recommendations, assist
the commillee and its subcommittees in planning and coordinating its efforts, and
perform such other duties as may be of assistance to the committee.
"Sec. 2-235. Subcommittees.
"The chair of the committee, with the ap • royal of the committee ma establish
such subcommittees as may be necessa or a.•ro•riate to assist the committee
in its studies and in the performance of its duties. Members of such subcommit-

"Sec. 2-236. Meetings.
"The committee shall meet at least once each month and shall meet on the call of
the chairperson or of a majority of its members.

Section 2. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word
or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or unconstitutional by final judgment
of a court of competent jurisdiction, it shall not affect any other section, paragraph,
subdivision, clause, phrase, word, or provision of this ordinance, for it is the definite
intent of this City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase,
word or provision of this ordinance be given full force and effect for its purpose.
Section 3. Publication is to be made in the official publication of the City of Corpus
Christi as required by the City Charter of the City of Corpus Christi.
