AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR DESIGNEE, TO
SUBMIT A GRANT APPLICATION IN THE AMOUNT OF
$487,760 TO THE U. S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE, OFFICE OF
COMMUNITY ORIENTED POLICING SERVICES (COPS), FOR
FUNDING ELIGIBLE UNDER THE COPS 2008 CHILD SEXUAL
PREDATOR PROGRAM, FUNDS WILL BE USED TO REDUCE
CHILD ENDANGERMENT, WITH A CITY IN-KIND
CONTRIBUTION OF $40,000 AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER OR THE CITY MANAGER'S DESIGNEE TO APPLY
FOR, ACCEPT, REJECT, ALTER OR TERMINATE THE GRANT.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS THAT:
SECTION 1. The City Manager or designee is authorized to submit a grant
application in the amount of $487,760 to the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of
Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) for funding eligible under the
COPS 2008 Child Sexual Predator Program, funds will be used to reduce child
endangerment, with a city in-kind contribution of $40,000 and authorizing the City
Manager or the City Manager's designee to apply for, accept, reject, alter or
terminate the grant.
