HomeMy WebLinkAbout027773 ORD - 07/22/2008ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $306,017.16 FROM ESTIMATED EXCESS REVENUES OVER EXPENDITURES IN FUND NO. 1020 GENERAL FUND FOR "ONE-TIME" EXPENDITURES IN THE FISCAL YEAR 2007-2008 OPERATING BUDGET FOR THE BUYDOWN OF LEASE PURCHASES IN THE AMOUNT OF $306,017.16; CHANGING THE FY 2007-2008 OPERATING BUDGET ADOPTED BY ORDINANCE NO. 027352 BY INCREASING REVENUES AND APPROPRIATIONS BY $306,017.16 EACH; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That $306,017.16 from estimated excess revenues over expenditures is appropriated in Fund No. 1020 General Fund for `one-time" expenditures in the fiscal year 2007-2008 operating budget for the buydown of lease purchases in the amount of $306,017.16. SECTION 2. That the FY 2007-2008 operating budget adopted by Ordinance 027352 is changed to increase estimated revenues and appropriations by $306,017.16 each. SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, the City Council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs and (2) suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and takes effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 22nd day of July, 2008.
