HomeMy WebLinkAbout027809 ORD - 08/19/2008ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING AN AMOUNT OF $184,732 FROM THE TANKEL ESTATE RESERVE IN THE GENERAL FUND TO BE APPLIED TO THE PURCHASE OF TWO FIRE PUMPER TRUCKS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. An amount of $184,732 from the Tankel Estate Reserve is appropriated out of the General Fund to be applied to purchase the two fire pumper trucks. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five council members, copy attached, the City Council finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs and suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency this the 19th of August, 2008.
