HomeMy WebLinkAbout027829 ORD - 09/09/2008AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING A GRANT OF $241,637 FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF STATE HEALTH SERVICES IN THE NO. 1066 HEALTH GRANTS FUND TO PROVIDE AN IMMUNIZATION PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN, ADOLESCENTS, AND ADULTS, WITH SPECIAL EMPHASIS ON CHILDREN TWO YEARS OF AGE OR YOUNGER; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. A grant of $241,637 from the Texas Department of State Health Services is appropriated in the No. 1066 Health Grants Fund to provide an immunization pro- gram for children, adolescents, and adults, with special emphasis on children two years of age or younger. SECTION 2. Upon the written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, the City Council: (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs, and (2) suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed nd takes effect uponfct rea• ing a an emergency measure on this the day of , 2008.
