AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE AN
INTERLOCAL COOPERATION AGREEMENT WITH TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY -
CORPUS CHRISTI FOR THE PHASE II OF THE COMMUNITY VISIONING PROJECT
CALLED BOLD FUTURE.
WHEREAS, Texas A&M University — Corpus Christi and Del Mar College have offered to
initiate a community visioning and planning effort; and
WHEREAS, Texas A&M University — Corpus Christi and Del Mar College have
developed a four step prospectus for a visioning and planning process that is both
comprehensive and inclusive; and
WHEREAS, on January 20, 2008, the City Council adopted a resolution expressing its
willingness for the City to be an active participant and partner of this initiative including
providing the funding for the initial phase of the project and further directed the City
Manager to negotiate an agreement with Texas A&M University and/or Del Mar College
to initiate the project;
WHEREAS, on April 8, 2008, the City Council adopted a resolution authorizing the City
Manager to execute an Interlocal Cooperation Agreement with Texas A&M University —
Corpus Christi for Phase I of the Community Visioning Project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI:
SECTION 1. The City Manager or his designee is authorized to execute an Interlocal
Cooperation Agreement with Texas A&M University -Corpus Christi for the second phase
of the Community Visioning Project called Bold Future.
SECTION 2. The City Manager or his designee is authorized to make editorial and non -
substantive modifications and execute amendments to the Interlocal cooperation
agreement without further approval of the City Council that do not require the
appropriation of additional funds or exceed the City Manager's authority to amend
contracts, including, but not limited to, time extensions, modifications to schedule and
modifications to scope of work or services.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage.
