HomeMy WebLinkAbout027895 ORD - 10/21/2008ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $257,801.80 FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR FUNDING FOR YEARS 2 AND 3 OF THE COMPREHENSIVE SELECTIVE TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT PROJECT (STEP) IN NO. 1061 POLICE GRANTS FUND; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That $257,801.80 is appropriated from the Texas Department of Transportation for funding for Years 2 and 3 of the Comprehensive Selective Traffic Enforcement Project (STEP) in No. 1061 Police Grants Fund; and declaring an emergency. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council Members, the City Council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs; and, (2) suspends that Charter rule which requires an ordinance to be considered and voted upon at two regular meetings, so that this ordinance is pared and takes effect as an emergency measure upon its first reading, this the j— day of October, 2008. Therefore, I/we request that you suspend said Charter rule and finally pass this ordinance on the date of its introduction, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
