HomeMy WebLinkAbout027962 ORD - 12/09/2008ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR HIS DESIGNEE, TO EXECUTE A ONE- YEAR LEASE AGREEMENT, WITH OPTION TO EXTEND FOR UP TO TWO ADDITIONAL ONE-YEAR TERMS, WITH WAR -CAT YOUTH FOOTBALL LEAGUE, A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION, AND NUECES COUNTY, FOR THE USE OF EQUISTAR FIELD LOCATED NEAR THE INTERSECTIONOF MCKINZIE ROAD AND HAVEN DRIVE, FOR ITS YOUTH FOOTBALL ATHLETIC PROGRAM IN CONSIDERATION OF MAINTAINING THE PREMISES AND IMPROVEMENTS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager or his designee is authorized to execute a one-year lease agreement, with option to extend for up to two additional one-year terms, with War -Cat Youth Football League, a non-profit organization, and Nueces County, for the use of Equistar Field located near the intersection of McKinzie Road and Haven Drive, for its youth football athletic program, in consideration of maintaining the premises and improvements. A copy of the Agreement is on file with the City Secretary. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, the City Council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs and (2) suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinanc i passed and takes a ect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the day of .%).L�, 2008.
