AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION IN THE
AMOUNT OF $224,772 TO THE STATE OF TEXAS, OFFICE OF THE
GOVERNOR, CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION FOR FUNDING
AVAILABLE TO ADDRESS GANG ISSUES, FUNDS TO BE USED FOR
OVERTIME AND FRINGE BENEFITS IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT,
AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR THE CITY MANAGER'S
DESIGNEE TO APPLY FOR, ACCEPT, REJECT, ALTER OR
TERMINATE THE GRANT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager, or the City Manager's designee, is authorized to submit
a grant application to the State of Texas, Office of the Govemor, Criminal Justice
Division in the amount of $224,772 for funding available to address gang issues, funds
to be used for overtime and fringe benefits in the Police Department.
SECTION 2. The City Manager, or the City Manager's designee, may apply for, accept,
reject, agree to alter the terms and conditions, or terminate the grant, if the grant is
awarded to the City.
SECTION 3. In the event of the Toss or misuse of these Criminal Justice Division funds,
the City of Corpus Christi assures that the funds will be returned to the Criminal Justice
Division in full.
