HomeMy WebLinkAbout028119 ORD - 04/21/2009Page 1 of 2 ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $5,000 IN THE GENERAL FUND NO. 1020 FROM A DONATION FROM THE POLLUTION PREVENTION PARTNERSHIP TO ASSIST IN THE PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF BIKE RACKS ON CITY PROPERTY IN THE DOWNTOWN AND BAYFRONT AREA; CHANGING FY 2008-2009 OPERATING BUDGET ADOPTED BY ORDINANCE 027776 TO INCREASE ESTIMATED REVENUES AND APPROPRIATIONS BY $5,000 EACH; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That $5,000 is appropriated in the General Fund No. 1020 from a donation from the Pollution Prevention Partnership to assist in the purchase and installation of bike racks on City property in the Downtown and Bayfront area. SECTION 2. That the FY 2008-2009 Operating Budget adopted by Ordinance 027776 is changed to increase estimated revenues and appropriations by $5,000 each. SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, the City Council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs and (2) suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed nd t kes effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the atday of 2009.
