HomeMy WebLinkAbout028190 ORD - 06/09/2009ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $400,000 IN THE NO. 1061 POLICE GRANTS FUND FROM THE STATE OF TEXAS GOVERNOR'S DIVISION OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT, FOR FUNDING ADDITIONAL GRANT FUNDING UNDER THE FY 07 PUBLIC SAFETY INTEROPERABLE COMMUNICATIONS (PSIC) GRANT PROJECT TO BE USED FOR THE ENHANCEMENT OF VOICE INTEROPERABILITY ON THE 800 MHz RADIO SYSTEM WITH A CITY MATCH OF $100,000; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That $400,000 is appropriated in the No. 1061 Police Grants Fund from the State of Texas Governor's Division of Emergency Management, for additional grant funding under the FY 07 Public Safety Interoperable Communications (PSIC) Grant project to be used for the enhancement of voice interoperability on the 800 MHz radio system with a City match of $100,000. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council Members, the City Council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs; and, (2) suspends that Charter rule which requires an ordinance to be considered and voted upon at two regular meetings, so that this ordinance ' assed and takes effect as an emergency measure upon its first reading, this the day of June, 2009. Therefore, I/we request that you suspend said Charter rule and finally pass this ordinance on the date of its introduction, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
