HomeMy WebLinkAbout028218 ORD - 06/30/2009Page 1 of 2 ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING A GRANT OF $132,328 FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF STATE HEALTH SERVICES IN THE NO. 1066 HEALTH GRANTS FUND FOR RENOVATION, SUPPLY AND EQUIPMENT EXPENSES RELATING TO A PLAN FOR RESPONDING TO AN ACT OF TERRORISM; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. A grant of $132,328 from the Texas Department of State Health Services is appropriated in the No. 1066 Health Grants Fund for renovation, supply and equipment expenses relating to a plan for responding to an act of terrorism. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, the City Council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs, and (2) suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is passedmnd takes effect on first reading as an emergency measure on this the 30 day of _ _, 2009.
