HomeMy WebLinkAbout028273 ORD - 08/18/2009Page 1 of 1 AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $112,844.68 OF THE UNRESERVED FUND BALANCE IN THE GENERAL FUND NO. 1 020 FOR PAYMENT TO THE CORPUS CHRISTI FIREFIGHTERS' RETIREMENT SYSTEM FOR PAST UNIFORM ALLOWANCE CONTRIBUTION; CHANGING THE FY 2009- 2010 OPERATING BUDGET ADOPTED BY ORDINANCE NO. 028252 BY INCREASING EXPENDITURES BY $112,844.68; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That $112,844.68 of the Unreserved Fund Balance in the General Fund No. 1020 is appropriated for payment to the Corpus Christi Firefighters' Retirement System for past uniform allowance contribution. SECTION 2. That the FY 2009-2010 operating budget adopted by Ordinance No. 028252 is changed by increasing expenditures by $112,844.68. SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five council members, copy attached, the City Council finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs and suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and shall take effect upon first reading as an emergency this the of August, 2009.
