HomeMy WebLinkAbout028303 ORD - 09/08/2009ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE 7012 1/2, WHICH AUTHORIZED THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE, FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY, A REVOCABLE EASEMENT FOR USE OF A PORTION OF THE PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY AND STREET OF OCEAN DRIVE, LYING SOUTH OF THE SOUTH LINE OF LOT 1, MARKAMAY ESTATES, AND EAST OF THE EASTERLY LINE OF LOT 1, BLOCK 1, ALTA PLAZA, IN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Ordinance 7012 1/2, passed and approved on August 28th, 1963, which authorized the City Manager to execute, for and on behalf of the City, a revocable easement for use of a portion of the public right of way and street of Ocean Drive, lying South of the South line of lot 1, Markamay Estates, and East of the Easterly line of Lot 1, Block 1, Alta Plaza, in the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, is hereby repealed. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, the City Council finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs and suspends the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed upon first reading as an emergency measure on this 8th day of September, 2009.
