AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR HIS DESIGNEE, TO
ACCEPT A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $42,536.00 AND TO
EXECUTE A CONTRACT AND ALL RELATED DOCUMENTS WITH
THE FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY (FEMA) AND
DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY (DHS), FY 2008
ASSISTANCE TO FIREFIGHTERS GRANT PROGRAM — FIRE
PREVENTION AND SAFETY GRANTS WITH A CASH MATCH OF
$10,634.00 FOR A TOTAL OF $53,170.00 TO PURCHASE FIRE
PREVENTION EDUCATIONAL SUPPLIES AND EQUIPMENT.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager, or his designee, is authorized to accept a grant
in the amount of $42,536.00 and to execute a contract and all related documents
with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Department of
Homeland Security (DHS), FY 2008 Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program —
Fire Prevention and Safety Grants with a cash match of $10,634.00 for a total of
$53,170.00 to purchase fire prevention educational supplies and equipment.
SECTION 2. In the event of the loss or misuse of these funds, the City of Corpus
Christi assures that the funds will be returned, in full, to the Federal Emergency
Management Agency (FEMA) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
