HomeMy WebLinkAbout028374 ORD - 10/27/2009AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR HIS DESIGNEE, TO EXECUTE AN ON -AIRPORT RENTAL CAR CONCESSION AND LEASE AGREEMENT WITH EAN HOLDINGS, L.L.C., DOING BUSINESS AS ENTERPRISE RENT -A -CAR, TO OPERATE A CONCESSION AND TO LEASE REAL PROPERTY AND IMPROVEMENTS LOCATED AT THE AIRPORT IN CONSIDERATION OF CONCESSION/LEASE PAYMENTS, WITH A TERM EXPIRING OCTOBER 31, 2014, SUBJECT TO RETURN SUBMISSION TO THE CITY OF AN EXECUTED AGREEMENT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. The City Manager, or his designee, is authorized to execute an On -Airport Rental Car Concession and Lease Agreement with EAN Holdings, L.L.C., doing business as Enterprise Rent-A-Car, to operate a rental car concession and to lease real property and improvements located at the Airport in consideration of concession/lease payments, with a term expiring October 31, 2014, subject to return submission to the City of an executed agreement. A copy of the executed document will be placed on file in the City Secretary's Office. SECTION 2. Upon the written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, the City Council: (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs, and (2) suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is passednd takes effect upon first re dig s a.n emergency measure on this the ! day of �, 2009.
