HomeMy WebLinkAbout028419 ORD - 11/17/2009Page 1 of 2 ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING A $500,000 GRANT FROM TEXAS PARKS AND WILDLIFE DEPARTMENT'S SAFE BOATING ACCESS PROGRAM, A $50,000 GRANT FROM THE COASTAL BEND BAYS & ESTUARIES PROGRAM, AND A $67,000 GRANT FROM THE SALTWATER -FISHERIES ENHANCEMENT ASSOCIATION IN THE NO. 1067 PARKS AND RECREATION GRANTS FUND FOR RECONSTRUCTION OF BOAT RAMP LOCATED NEAR JOHN F. KENNEDY CAUSEWAY ON THE NORTH SIDE OF STATE HIGHWAY 358 ON PACKERY CHANNEL; WITH CITY GRANT MATCH OF $50,000 IN THE 3289 PARKS AND RECREATION CIP FUND; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. A $500,000 Grant from Texas Parks and Wildlife Department's Safe Boating Access Program, a $50,000 grant from the Coastal Bend Bays & Estuaries Program, and a $78,000 grant from the Saltwater -fisheries Enhancement Association in the No. 1067 Parks and Recreation Grants Fund is appropriated for reconstruction of boat ramp located near John F. Kennedy Causeway on the north side of State Highway 358 on Packery Channel, with City grant match of $50,000 in the No. 3289 Parks and Recreation CIP fund. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, the City Council finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs and suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinancedis passed and takes effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 17r3 -day of November, 2009.
