HomeMy WebLinkAbout028427 ORD - 12/08/2009ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $14,999.80 FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR FUNDING OF AN IMPAIRED DRIVING MOBILIZATION SELECTIVE TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT PROJECT (STEP) GRANT FOR DWI ENFORCEMENT OVERTIME WITHIN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT IN NO. 1061 POLICE GRANTS FUND; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That $14,999.80 is appropriated from the Texas Department of Transportation for funding of an Impaired Driving Mobilization Selective Traffic Enforcement Project (STEP) grant for DWI enforcement overtime within the Police Department in No. 1061 Police Grants Fund; and declaring an emergency. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council Members, the City Council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs; and, (2) suspends that Charter rule which requires an ordinance to be considered and voted upon at two regular meetings, so that this ordinance is p ssed and takes effect as an emergency measure upon its first reading, this the day of December, 2009.
