AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION IN THE
AMOUNT OF $29,573.28 TO THE STATE OF TEXAS, CRIMINAL
JUSTICE DIVISION FOR FUNDING AVAILABLE UNDER THE
RECOVERY ACT — VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN ACT (VAWA) FOR
THE POLICE DEPARTMENT'S FAMILY VIOLENCE UNIT, AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR THE CITY MANAGER'S
DESIGNEE TO APPLY FOR, ACCEPT, REJECT, ALTER OR
TERMINATE THE GRANT.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager, or the City Manager's designee, is authorized to submit
a grant application to the State of Texas, Criminal Justice Division for funding available
under the Recovery Act — Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) for the Police
Department's Family Violence Unit.
SECTION 2. The City Manager, or the City Manager's designee, may apply for, accept,
reject, agree to alter the terms and conditions, or terminate the grant, if the grant is
awarded to the City.
SECTION 3. In the event of the Toss or misuse of these Criminal Justice Division funds,
the City of Corpus Christi assures that the funds will be returned to the Criminal Justice
Division in full.
