HomeMy WebLinkAbout028538 ORD - 03/30/20101 AN ORDINANCE APPOINTING MELISSA MADRIGAL AS FULL-TIME MUNICIPAL JUDGE OF THE MUNICIPAL COURT OF RECORD IN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI AT A SALARY EQUIVALENT TO THE SALARY OF THE CURRENTLY APPOINTED MUNICIPAL COURT JUDGE MEDARY AND JUDGE RIVERA, TO TERM COTERMINOUS WITH THE TERM OF THE APPOINTING CITY COUNCIL; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That Melissa Madrigal is appointed as full-time Municipal Court Judge of the Municipal Court of Record in the City of Corpus Christi. SECTION 2. That Judge Melissa Madrigal shall receive salary equivalent to that of the currently appointed Municipal Court Judge Medary and Judge Rivera. SECTION 3. That Judge Melissa Madrigal shall hold office for term coterminous with the term of the appointing City Council unless sooner removed or until the successor, if any, is appointed. SECTION 4. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, the City Council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs and (2) suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and takes effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 30th day of March, 2010.
