HomeMy WebLinkAbout028610 RES - 05/25/2010RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR HIS DESIGNEE, TO SUBMIT A GRANT APPLICATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $150,747.24 TO THE STATE OF TEXAS, CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION (CJD) OF THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE FOR FUNDING AVAILABLE UNDER THE COVERDELL FORENSIC SCIENCES IMPROVEMENT GRANT PROGRAM TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY AND TIMELINESS OF FORENSIC SCIENCE AND MEDICAL EXAMINER SERVICES, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR HIS DESIGNEE, TO APPLY FOR, ACCEPT, REJECT, ALTER OR TERMINATE THE GRANT. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. The City Manager, or his designee, is authorized to submit a grant application in the amount of $150,747.24 to the State of Texas, Criminal Justice Division (CJD) of the Governor's Office for funding available under the Coverdell Forensic Sciences Improvement Grant Program to improve the quality and timeliness of forensic science and medical examiner services. SECTION 2. The City Manager, or his designee, may apply for, accept, reject, agree to alter the terms and conditions, or terminate the grant, if the grant is awarded to the City. SECTION 3. In the event of the Toss or misuse of these State of Texas, Criminal Justice Division (CJD) of the Governor's Office funds, the City of Corpus Christi assures that the funds will be returned to the State of Texas, Criminal Justice Division (CJD) of the Governor's Office in full.
