HomeMy WebLinkAbout028635 ORD - 06/15/2010Page 1 of 2 ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $258,270.74 FROM THE TEXAS COMMISSION ON ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY (TCEQ) IN THE NO. 1071 COMMUNITY ENRICHMENT GRANT FUND FOR ACTIVITIES UNDER (1) THE AIR QUALITY RESEARCH AND PLANNING PROGRAM, AND (2) THE POLLUTION PREVENTION PARTNERSHIP AND EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH PROGRAM; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. An amount of $258,270.74 from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) in the No. 1071 Community Enrichment Grant Fund is appropriated for activities under (1) the Air Quality Research and Planning Program, and (2) the Pollution Prevention Partnership and Educational Outreach Program. SECTION 2. Upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, the City Council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs and (2) suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and takes effect upon first reading as an emergency measure on this the 15th day of June, 2010.
