HomeMy WebLinkAbout028675 ORD - 07/13/2010ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $384,882 FROM THE TEXAS AUTOMOBILE THEFT PREVENTION AUTHORITY (ATPA) IN THE NO. 1061 POLICE GRANTS FUND TO CONTINUE THE MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT ENFORCEMENT GRANT IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That $384,882 is appropriated from the Texas Automobile Theft Prevention Authority (ATPA) in the No. 1061 Police Grants Fund to continue the motor vehicle theft enforcement grant in the Police Department. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council Members, the City Council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs; and, (2) suspends that Charter rule which requires an ordinance to be considered and voted upon at two regular meetings, so that this ordinance is passed and takes effect as an emergency measure upon its first reading on /.' July, 2010. Therefore, I/we request that you suspend said Charter rule and finally pass this ordinance on the date of its introduction, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
