HomeMy WebLinkAbout028744 ORD - 08/31/2010ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $20,000 FROM THE TEXAS HISTORICAL COMMISSION (THC) IN THE NO. 1069 MUSEUM GRANTS FUND, TO FUND THE THC SALARY INCREASE FOR PAYMENT FOR SERVICES FROM $30,000, WHICH WAS PREVIOUSLY APPROPRIATED BY ORDINANCE NO. 028416 APPROVED ON THE 17TH DAY OF NOVEMBER, 2009, TO THE AMENDED AMOUNT OF $50,000, FOR SERVICES TO BE CONDUCTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE 1ST AMENDMENT OF THE THC CONTRACT; SERVICES TO BE PERFORMED INCLUDE THE REINVENTORY OF THE LA BELLE ARTIFACT COLLECTION HELD AT THE CORPUS CHRISTI MUSEUM OF SCIENCE AND HISTORY; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDIANED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1: That $20,000 is appropriated from the Texas Historical Commission (THC) in the No. 1069 Museum Grants Fund, to fund the THC salary increase for payment for services from $30,000, which was previously appropriated by Ordinance No. 028416 approved on the 17th day of November, 2009, (Exhibit A), to the amended amount of $50,000, for services to be conducted in accordance with the 1st amendment of the THC contract; services to be performed include the reinventory of the La Belie artifact collection held at the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, the City Council finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs and suspends the Charter rule as to consideration and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so.tt at this ordinance is passed upon first reading as an emergency measure on this day of , 2010. I/we, therefore, request that you suspend said Charter rule and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1.
