ORDINANCE
APPROPRIATING $503,500 FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF
FAMILY AND PROTECTIVE SERVICES IN THE NO. 1060 COMMUNITY
YOUTH DEVELOPMENT FUND TO FUND THE COMMUNITY YOUTH
DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM IN THE 78415 ZIP CODE FOR FISCAL
YEAR 2010-2011 CONTRACT PERIOD SEPTEMBER 1, 2010- AUGUST
31, 2011; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That $503,500 from the Texas Department of Family and Protective
Services in the No. 1060 Community Youth Development Fund is appropriated to fund
the Community Youth Development Program in the 78415 zip code for fiscal year 2010-
2011, contract period September 1, 2010 — August 31, 2011.
SECTION 2. That Ordinance No. 028683 which adopted the FY 2010-2011 Operating
Budget is changed to increase appropriations by $503,500.
SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five council members, copy
attached, the City Council finds and declares an emergency due to the need for
immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs
and suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon
ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordnance is passed and shall take
effect upon first reading as an emergency this the / -of August, 2010.

emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and
voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings: llwe, therefore, request that you
suspend said Charter rule and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or
at the present meeting of the City Council.

CERTIFICATION OF FUNDS

I, the Director of Financial Services of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas (or his/her duly
authorized representative), hereby certify to the City Council and other appropriate officers
that the money required for the current fiscal year's portion of the contract, agreement,
obligation or expenditure described below is in the Treasury to the credit of the Fund
specified below, from which it is to be drawn, and has not been appropriated for any other
purpose. Future payments are subject to annual appropriation by the City Council.
