HomeMy WebLinkAbout028786 ORD - 09/21/2010ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $19,000 FROM SAM HOUSTON STATE UNIVERSITY IN THE NO. 1061 POLICE GRANTS FUND FOR FUNDING AVAILABLE UNDER THE PROJECT SAFE NEIGHBORHOODS 2010 GRANT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That $19,000 is appropriated from Sam Houston State University in the No. 1061 Police Grants Fund for funding available under the Project Safe Neighborhoods 2010 Grant. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council Members, the City Council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs; and, (2) suspends that Charter rule which requires an ordinance to be considered and voted upon at two regular meetings, so that this ordinance isaswsed and takes effect as an emergency measure upon its first reading, this the day of September 2010.
