HomeMy WebLinkAbout028829 ORD - 11/09/2010Page 1 of 2 ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ADVERTISEMENT AND PUBLICATION OF NOTICE OF AN OFFER OF SALE OF SURPLUS CITY PROPERTY WITH LEGAL DESCRIPTION OF LOTS 4, 6, AND 8, BLOCK G, BROOKLYN ADDITION, LOCATED AT 2816 N. SHORELINE BOULEVARD, NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS ("THE PROPERTY"); AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF THE PROPERTY BY SEALED BID UNDER CHAPTER 272 OF THE TEXAS LOCAL GOVERNMENT CODE; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE A DEED AND ANY RELATED DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO COMPLETE THE SALE AND CONVEYANCE OF THE PROPERTY; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. The City Manager or his designee is authorized to advertise and publish notice of an offer of sale of surplus City property described as Lots 4, 6, and 8, Block G, Brooklyn Addition, located at 2816 N. Shoreline Boulevard, Nueces County, Texas ("the Property"). SECTION 2. The City Manager or his designee is authorized to sell the Property by sealed bid under Chapter 272 of the Texas Local Government Code. SECTION 3. The City Manager or his designee is authorized to execute a deed and all related documents necessary to complete the sale and conveyance of the Property. SECTION 4. Upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, the City Council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs and (2) suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and takes effect upon first reading as an emergency measure on this the 9th day of November, 2010.
