HomeMy WebLinkAbout028871 ORD - 12/07/2010ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE RESALE OF FOUR (4) PROPERTIES FOR $6,725.00 WHICH WERE FORECLOSED UPON FOR FAILURE TO PAY AD VALOREM TAXES, OF WHICH THE CITY SHALL RECEIVE $427.90 PLUS $1,314.49 FOR PARTIAL PAYMENT OF CITY PAVING AND DEMOLITION LIENS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. That pursuant to Section 34.05 of the Tax Code, the governing body of the City of Corpus Christi authorizes the resale of four (4) properties listed on the attached and incorporated Exhibit A for $6,725.00, which were foreclosed upon for failure to pay ad valorem taxes, of which the City shall receive $427.90 plus $1,314.49 for partial payment of City paving and demolition liens. SECTION 2. That the Nueces County Judge is authorized to execute a resale deed upon payment to the City of the City's share of the tax resale proceeds. SECTION 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, the City Council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs and (2) suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is assed and takes effect upon first reading as an emergency measure on this the day of December 2010.
