APPROPRIATING $150,747.24 FROM THE STATE OF TEXAS,
CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION (CJD) OF THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE
FOR FUNDING AVAILABLE UNDER THE COVERDELL FORENSIC
SCIENCES IMPROVEMENT GRANT PROGRAM IN THE NO. 1061
POLICE GRANT FUND; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That $150,747.24 is appropriated from the State of Texas, Criminal
Justice Division (CJD) of the Governor's Office for funding available under the
Coverdell Forensic Sciences Improvement Grant Program in the No. 1061 Police
Grant Fund.
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council Members, the
City Council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate
action for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs; and, (2) suspends
that Charter rule which requires an ordinance to be considered and voted upon at two
regular meetings, so that this ordinance is ssed and takes effect as an emergency
measure upon its first reading, this the day of December, 2010.

emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and
voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings: I/we, therefore, request that you

at the present meeting of the City Council.

I, the Director of Financial Services of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas (or his/her duly authorized
representative), hereby certify to the City Council and other appropriate officers that the money
required for the current fiscal year's portion of the contract, agreement, obligation or expenditure
described below is in the Treasury to: the credit of the Fund specified below, from which it is to be
drawn, and has not been appropriated for any other purpose. Future payments are subject to
