AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION IN THE
AMOUNT OF $59,914 TO THE STATE OF TEXAS, OFFICE OF THE
GOVERNOR, CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION FOR FUNDING
AVAILABLE UNDER THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE PROGRAMS FUND
FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT TO ESTABLISH A REGIONAL
FUSION CENTER WITH A CASH CONTRIBUTION OF $25,000 FROM
THE LAW ENFORCEMENT TRUST FUND, AND AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER, OR HIS DESIGNEE, TO APPLY FOR, ACCEPT,
REJECT, ALTER OR TERMINATE THE GRANT.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. The City Manager, or his designee, is authorized to submit a grant
application to the State of Texas, Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division in the
amount of $59,914 for funding available under the Criminal Justice Programs Fund for
the Police Department to establish a Regional Fusion Center with a cash contribution of
$25,000 from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund.
SECTION 2. The City Manager, or his designee, may apply for, accept, reject, agree to
alter the terms and conditions, or terminate the grant, if the grant is awarded to the City.
SECTION 3. In the event of the loss or misuse of these Criminal Justice Division funds,
the City of Corpus Christi assures that the funds will be returned to the Criminal Justice
Division in full.
