HomeMy WebLinkAbout028978 ORD - 03/08/2011ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR DESIGNEE, TO EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT TO THE AIRPORT IN -TERMINAL ADVERTISING CONCESSION AGREEMENT WITH IN -TER -SPACE SERVICES, INC., DIBIA CLEAR CHANNEL INTERSPACE AIRPORTS, ("CONCESSIONAIRE") TO AMEND DEFINITION OF GROSS RECEIPTS TO EXCLUDE CONCESSIONAIRE'S PRINTING AND OTHER BROCHURE COSTS AND INCLUDE AMOUNTS PAID BY THIRD -PARTY ADVERTISERS FOR BROCHURE PRODUCTION AND DISTRIBUTION WITHIN THE AIRPORT TERMINAL; RATIFYING EFFECTIVE DATE OF JANUARY 1, 2011; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. The City Manager, or designee, is authorized to execute an amendment to the Airport In -Terminal Advertising Concession Agreement with In -Ter -Space Services, Inc., d/b/a Clear Channel Interspace Airports ("Concessionaire") to amend definition of gross receipts to exclude Concessionaire's printing and other brochure costs and include amounts paid by third -party advertisers for brochure production and distribution within the airport terminal. A copy of the amendment shall be filed with the City Secretary. The amendment is ratified to be effective as of January 1, 2011, SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, the City Council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs and (2) suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this or• i, ance is p ssed nd takes effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 'qday of , 2011.
