HomeMy WebLinkAbout029046 ORD - 04/26/2011Pagel of 3 ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $941,270 FROM THE UNRESERVED FUND BALANCE IN THE NO. 1140 BUSINESS/JOB DEVELOPMENT FUND FOR A GRANT FROM THE CORPUS CHRISTI BUSINESS AND JOB DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION TO DEL MAR COLLEGE FOR RENOVATION OF A HANGAR, INCLUDING INSTRUCTIONAL EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS, TO BE USED FOR AN AVIATION MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN TRAINING FACILITY AT THE CORPUS CHRISTI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT; CHANGING THE FY 2010-2011 OPERATING BUDGET, ADOPTED BY ORDINANCE NO. 028252 BY INCREASING PROPOSED EXPENDITURES BY $941,270; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That $941,270 from the unreserved fund balance in the No. 1140 Business/Job Development Fund is appropriated for a grant from the Corpus Christi Business and Job Development Corporation to Del Mar College for [purpose]. SECTION 2. That Ordinance No. 028252, which adopted the FY 2010-2011 Operating Fund, is changed to increase proposed expenditures in the No. 1140 Business/Job Development Fund by $941,270 for a grant from the Corpus Christi Business and Job Development Corporation to Del Mar College for renovation of a hangar, including instructional equipment and furnishings, to be used for an Aviation Maintenance Technician Training Facility at the Corpus Christi International Airport. SECTION 3.—That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, the City Council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs and (2) suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is pssed and takes effect upon first r� eadiAg as an emergency measure on this the day of , 2011.
