ORDINANCE
APPROPRIATING A $250,000 GRANT FROM THE TEXAS
DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE IN THE NO. 1067 PARKS AND
RECREATION GRANT FUND TO OPERATE A SUMMER FOOD
SERVICE PROGRAM FOR SUMMER RECREATION PARTICIPANTS
AGES ONE TO EIGHTEEN YEARS; AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That a $250,000 grant from the Texas Department of Agriculture in the
No. 1067 Parks and Recreation Grant Fund is appropriated to operate a Summer Food
Service Program for Summer Recreation participants ages one to eighteen years.
SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy
attached, the City Council finds and declares an emergency due to the need for
immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs
and suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon
ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed nd takes effect
upon first reading as an emergency measure this the S/ day of Ut. W, 2011.

emergency exists requiring suspension of the Charter rule as to consideration and

at the present meeting of the City Council.

authorized representative), hereby certify to the City Council and other appropriate officers
that the money required for the current fiscal year's portion of the contract, agreement,
obligation or expenditure described below is in the Treasury to the credit of the Fund
specified below, from which it is to be drawn, and has not been appropriated for any other
purpose. Future payments are subject to annual appropriation by the City Council.
