HomeMy WebLinkAbout029075 ORD - 05/31/2011Page' 1 of 2 ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING A $250,000 GRANT FROM THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE IN THE NO. 1067 PARKS AND RECREATION GRANT FUND TO OPERATE A SUMMER FOOD SERVICE PROGRAM FOR SUMMER RECREATION PARTICIPANTS AGES ONE TO EIGHTEEN YEARS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That a $250,000 grant from the Texas Department of Agriculture in the No. 1067 Parks and Recreation Grant Fund is appropriated to operate a Summer Food Service Program for Summer Recreation participants ages one to eighteen years. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, the City Council finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs and suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed nd takes effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the S/ day of Ut.
