ORDINANCE
AMENDING SECTION 2-79 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, BY
AUTHORIZING AN ANNUAL NONRESIDENT LIBRARY FEE;
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; PROVIDING FOR SEVERANCE;
AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 2-79 of the Code of Ordinances is revised to read as follows:
"Sec. 2-79. Fees.

"(e) Annual fee for nonresidents of the city. $25.00
The $25.00 annual fee for nonresidents shall not apply to the following:
(1) members of the armed forces (and their dependents) stationed (i]
within the city limits or (ii) at the Coast Guard Station, Port Aransas,
Texas;
(2) temporary residents residing within the city limits for a period of six
(6) weeks or longer;
(3) students currently enrolled at (1) Texas A&M University -Corpus
Christi or (ii) Del Mar College; and
(4) nonresidents who own real property within the city limits.
SECTION 2. The fees established in Section 1 of this Ordinance shall take effect on
September 1, 2011.
SECTION 3. If for any reason any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase,
word or provision of this Ordinance shall be held invalid or unconstitutional by final
judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction, it shall not affect any other section,
paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision of this Ordinance, for it it's the
definite intent of this City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, clause,
phrase, word or provision hereof be given full force and effect for its purpose.
Section 4. Publication shall be made in the official publication of the City of Corpus
Christi as required by the City Charter of the City of Corpus Christi.
