Department of Housing and Urban Development in the No. 1059 Grant Fund for approved 2010 community planning and development projects as follows: $4,222,960 for the Community Development Block Grant Program; $148,916 for the Emergency Shelter Grant Program; and $827,551 for the HOME Investment Partnerships Program; and declaring an emergency. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. Grants from the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development are appropriated in the No. 1059 Grant Fund for approved fiscal year 2010 community planning and development projects as follows: $4,222,960 for the Community Develop- ment Block Grant Program; $148,916 for the Emergency Shelter Grant Program; and $827,551 for the HOME Investment Partnerships Program. SECTION 2. Upon the written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, the City Council: (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs, and (2) suspends the Charter rule that requires consideration of and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is passe and takes effect upon first readin as an emergency measure on this the day of , 2011.
