HomeMy WebLinkAbout029293 ORD - 12/06/2011Ordinance appropriating $60,000 from the State of Texas, Criminal Justice Division (CJD) of the Governor's Office for funding available under the Coverdell Forensic Sciences Improvement Grant Program in the No. 1061 Police Grant Fund and declaring an emergency. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That $60,000 is appropriated from the State of Texas, Criminal Justice Division (CJD) of the Governor's Office for funding available under the Coverdell Forensic Sciences Improvement Grant Program in the No. 1061 Police Grant Fund. SECTION 2. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council Members, the City Council (1) finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs; and, (2) suspends that Charter rule which requires an ordinance to be considered and voted upon at two regular meetings, so that this ordinance is passed and takes effect as an emergency measure upon its first reading, this the (Q*` day of December, 2011.
