HomeMy WebLinkAbout029377 RES - 02/21/2012Resolution authorizing the City Manager, or designee, to submit a grant application in the amount of $2,464,533 to the United States Department of Homeland Security — Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) Grants Program to hire 27 additional firefighters within the Fire Department and authorizing the City Manager, or designee, to apply for, accept, reject, alter or terminate the grant. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS THAT: SECTION 1. The City Manager, or designee, is authorized to submit a grant application in the amount of $2,464,533 to the United States Department of Homeland Security — Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) to hire 27 additional firefighters within the Fire Department. SECTION 2. The City Manager, or designee, may apply for, accept, reject, agree to alter the terms and conditions, or terminate the grant, if the grant is awarded to the City. SECTION 3. In the event of the loss or misuse of the United States Department of Homeland Security — Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) Grants Program funds, the City of Corpus Christi assures that the funds will be returned to the United States Department of Homeland Security — Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) in full.
