HomeMy WebLinkAbout029412 ORD - 03/27/2012Ordinance authorizing the City Manager, or his designee, to amend the lease agreement with Padre Soccer League, a non-profit organization, for the use of Bill Witt Park for its soccer program to end in January 2013, by amending section regarding water utilities, and declaring an emergency Now, therefore, be it ordained by the City Council of Corpus Christi, Texas, that: Section 1. That the City Manager, or designee, is authorized to amend the lease agreement with Padre Soccer League, a non-profit organization, for the use of Bill Witt Park for its soccer program to end in January 2013 by amending section regarding water utilities. A copy of the amendment to the lease is on file with the City Secretary. Section 2. If, for any reason, any section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance shall be held invalid or unconstitutional by final judgment of a court of competent jurisdiction, it shall not affect any other section, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase, word or provision of this ordinance, for it is the definite intent of the City Council that every section, paragraph, subdivision, phrase, word and provision hereof shall be given full force and effect for its purpose. Section 3. That upon written request of the Mayor or five Council members, copy attached, the City Council finds and declares an emergency due to the need for immediate action necessary for the efficient and effective administration of City affairs and suspends the Charter Rule that requires consideration of and voting upon ordinances at two regular meetings so that this ordinance is passed and takes effect upon first reading as an emergency measure this the 2.1+—day of March, 2012.
